A.C. on a hot day

…is one of those little things that remind me life is good.

Aire Acondicionado en un dia caluroso

…es una de esas pequeñas cosas que me hacen recordar lo buena que es la vida.

If you live in a place where spring, summer and even fall merge into one long, hot, humid season you will understand this better than anyone. If you don’t, just think of one of those exceptionally hot days you’ve had to live through and remember how much A.C. helped.

I currently live in Texas, but I was born and raised (or reared, according to my English teacher) in Puebla, Mexico. Back home, in Puebla, it’s not as customary for people to have A.C. in their homes as it is in the U.S. In Houston EVERYBODY has A.C., not only in their homes but in stores, restaurants, classrooms, offices, etc…

I still think most people/places set their A.C. way too cold. But having lived through Houston’s long, hot, humid spring/summer for almost 3 years now, I have to admit A.C. is one of the best inventions mankind has ever come up with.

Do you use A.C. a lot where you live?

  1. In New York City, sometimes we put the AC on for so long we get mini-black outs. The energy companies always ask us to conserve, but no one listens. 😛

AC is just one of those miracles of science and engineering. Without it, we’d be miserably hot like animals!

    Thanks for sharing.

    • You live in New York? That’s awesome!

I guess we should try to conserve to save the environment and all but who wants to be hot and uncomfortable in their own home?

      Thanks for reading!
